Thought I'd introduce myself as well. I'm an HWA writer from deep southwestern Virginia, but I've lived in several different parts of the US in adulthood - plus five other countries!

I started writing full-time two years ago, after leaving a job I was unhappy with. I had no plans, just an idea I couldn't shake. Once that turned into a full-length novel, I started on my second one. It was only a little over a year ago that I started putting my work out on submission. Since then, I've had a novella (Afraid to Feel) debut two months ago, plus another novella publishing next year. I have two novels that I believe will find homes soon.

As for my short fiction, I was recently featured in Occupying Bodies by Black Hare Press. My work will be included in several others in the near future, from publishers that include Graveside…

Hi!

I'm Hannah, and I've been writing forever! My fifth and sixth books were published this year—not on purpose; it just worked out that way! I'm both self and traditionally published and have been at this game for 20 years. My newest book came out in October: High School Epic. I don't like to genre-fy myself, but one bookseller told me that although this is a YA book, it's also historical fiction. That means books set in the 90s are now considered historical fiction! Yikes! Anyway, hope to chat with you all about this crazy world of indie publishing.

Yo!

Hello indiereads gang! My name is Pete and I am a horror writer from South Wales. Pleased to meet you all!

My first novella shark eggs has been released onto indie reads just now, it’s a creature feature/ body horror type thing.

I can often be found cooking, drinking tea, hiking and combining the three things.

Hello!

My name is Lola B. Marie and I started my author journey about a year ago. I've been writing my whole life but didn't think I could actually publish a book until recently. My best friend opened a bookstore in our area and we've met so many amazing people, including local authors. Upon meeting them and hearing about their journeys, I realized this might be something I could do after all. So, with help from our local bookish community, here I am!

I self-published two books this year, with another coming out in December. All my books are romance but they bounce between paranormal and contemporary.

I'm thrilled to be a part of the Indie Reads community. My local community helped me so much in the beginning and they continue to support me, so finding an online community that supports one another is really wonderful.

Hi friends!

I’m Maddi (Madison Rose is my pen name). I’ve been writing my whole life, but only had my first short story published last year! I primarily write (or want to write) horror/thriller. I’m working on a novel now and hope to have it ready to go within the next year!

I work at a university by day, running alumni events across the US, so I stay pretty busy! I love to play cozy games on my steam deck or junk journal when I’m not reading or writing.

I’m excited to be part of Indie Reads and can’t wait to build a community with all of you!! :)

This is Me...

Hello Fellow Authors,

My name is Andrew Stevens and I am a newly published debut author in the epic fantasy space. My first book and prequel novella came out July 1st, and it's certainly been a learning experience these past few months.

I have always been a writer, but it took me quite a while to finally get my sh** together and write a full length book. I'm sure I'm not speaking to anyone else who's been in that boat 😉 but it's certainly been a journey worth going on. I have had a lot of help along the way, plus a few pushes and shoves, and I'm so glad for it.

At this point, I'm focused on trying to learn how to all the OTHER stuff besides the writing, plus writing the next books in the series. We all know what those "other" things are. It's tough, for sure,…

Can definitely relate to the struggle of "other" stuff!

I'll join in on the introductions.

I'll join in on the introductions. That's my name up there beside the little pencil sketch I did for my first published book, a collection of poems which I describe as "slightly of the beaten path." I continued my writing journey with my favorite genre, science fiction, and haven't stopped since. I now have two poetry books, and six sci-fi to my name with another in the works. If I was relying on my writing to make a living, I would be in a little trouble, but as most indie authors, I write because I love to and enjoy when readers enjoy what I create.

Hello, writer friends!

My name is Erin (author name E.K. Larson-Burnett), and I'm a multi-genre author and editor!

I have three books out as of Tuesday (Prickle entered the world on 11/4 in a most underwhelming way because KDP is being an absolute spud about populating my physical editions) —

  • The Bear & the Rose (mythological sapphic fantasy),

  • A Madness Unmade (book 1 of my gaslamp fantasy duology),

  • and my first foray into horror, Prickle.

I love writing the weird and the whimsical while also spotlighting mental illnesses in a raw, realistic way.
