Bio
Margery Reynolds is the pen name of Dale Margery Rutherford. People local to the Niagara Area might remember her bookstore, Novel-Teas on Queen Street in Niagara Falls. Margery closed her store in 2016 to pursue her interest in Creative Writing and after several years of courses, workshops and retreats, she began publishing in 2022.
A native to the Niagara Area, she was born and raised in her ancestral home in Beamsville, on a fruit farm on the shores of Lake Ontario. She attended Beamsville High School, and after marrying in 1979, lived most of her adult life in St. Catharines. She now resides in Edmonton, Alberta. Margery is “Nana” to two grandchildren and “Mum” to three sons, who all live in the Niagara Region.
2026 will begin a new venture in the writing in the form of a cozy mystery series based on amateur sleuth Dotty Hamilton, who inherits her great aunt’s shop in the 1930s in a fictitious town called Button Hill, a small town on the south shores of Lake Ontario. Readers might recognize that Button Hill is loosely based on Port Dalhousie.
She is a member of the Second Tuesday Writer's Group and facilitates the Westend Senior's Writer's Group, as well as a member of the Alberta Writer's Guild. You can find Margery on Substack, Facebook and Instagram.
